  1. Prepare 1 cup chopped pumpkin
  2. Prepare 1 cup mix dal (mung dal, masoor dal, chana dal,udad dal, tur dal)

  4. Make ready 2 finely chopped onions
  5. Make ready 8 finely chopped garlic cloves
  6. Get 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  7. Make ready 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Take 1 tsp garam masala powder
  9. Take 1 lemon
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  11. Get Pinch asafoetida
  12. Take 2 tbsp oil
  13. Get to taste Salt
Steps to make Pumpkin Dal Curry:
  1. Wash & soak dal.
  2. Heat oil in pressure pan, add cumin seeds & asafoetida, as cumin seeds splutter, add onions & garlic& saute for a while. Add tomatoes and saute for while.
  3. Now add chopped pumpkin & soaked mix dal, all spices & approximately one cup water. Cook for 3 whistles.
  4. If you wish, can give temper of ghee & red chilli powder. Serve hot.
